ESODC Journey
The Eastern Shore Ocean Discovery Centre will grow in thoughtful phases — beginning with community engagement and programming, and working toward a permanent waterfront discovery centre featuring interactive exhibits, marine ecosystems, research partnerships, and flexible gathering spaces. This is not an overnight project. It is a long-term investment in the Eastern Shore’s future.

What We Are Building
The creation of ESODC will unfold in three thoughtful phases:
2026 marks a foundational year for the Eastern Shore Ocean Discovery Centre — a time to jump-start, deepen community connections, and bring ocean literacy to life across the region.
From refining the ESODC concept and becoming incorporated as a non-profit society to participating in an Eastern Shore tourism workshop and receiving our first grant to launch ESODC community engagement, we’re building momentum now!
We’re launching a series of public-facing initiatives designed to spark curiosity and foster stewardship:
Summer programming
Exploring local business opportunities
Presentations by guest speakers
School workshops
Community cleanup
Seaside Festival event

Collaborations with educational institutions, marine organizations, and tourism partners to expand programming and test innovative concepts. We’ve identified potential partners that share our values in research & data, conservation & engagement, education & outreach, and blue economy & innovation.

A vibrant waterfront destination featuring interactive exhibits, marine aquaria, research and learning spaces, and flexible gathering areas designed to serve residents and visitors alike.
Each step strengthens the foundation for the next. This is a deliberate, community-rooted journey — not an overnight project.
